www.coppinscards.co.uk was founded by Brian James & Michelle Coppins in February 2009 and specialises in the production of hand-crafted gift cards for all occasions.
As yet, it is still very much a small table-top operation, working from home in their spare time with orders coming predominantly from friends, family and by associated word of mouth.
Brian James Coppins is an established artist who specialises mostly in acrylic paintings, but also likes to work in other mediums, such as watercolours and/or graphite sketches. Much of his art is produced for his own pleasure, although he does undertake the odd commission every so often which prompted him to set up his own web-site to display his work for all to see. Examples of his artwork can be seen at www.coppinsart.com Brian's interest in hand-crafted gift cards stemmed from his wife Michelle's hobby. Brian sees this very much as an extension to his existing hobby and a further opportunity to both assist his wife Michelle in the production of her unique hand-crafted gift cards and as a medium to bring his own artistic talents to the attention of the general public.
Michelle works in a residential care home for the elderly. Having previously worked long and often unsociable shifts for many years and having two daughters to bring up, little spare time was available for other outside interests or hobbies.
Her daughters now having grown up and having recently remarried however, Michelle was looking for a hobby that she could take up that would both provide her with a pleasurable pastime and, hopefully, provide a little extra spare income. Indeed, Michelle used to dabble in watercolour paintings herself in years gone by, but, as with many other things such interests have taken a backseat to family, work and other commitments in more recent years.
Brian and Michelle compliment each other in all aspects of their married life together, including this new found venture. Michelle produces the vast majority of gift cards, with Brian assisting more with the design element than production of the cards themselves.
